Classic Smokey Eye

I have to tell you quickly about my neighbour's daughter Sam. She's a stunner and I'm always pleased with my work that I do with her. She has cheek bones to die for and flawless skin AND she's only sixteen! I was asked to do her make-up for a boat cruise she was attending for a school function and wanted a black smokey eye. Well, I brushed up on my technique by catching up with my favourite make-up gurus on YouTube, making sure I had the latest info and colour ideas.

I started with the eyes after applying Urban Decay Primer Potion (love, love love this product!!!) to prime the eyes and make the colours last the whole evening. I applied a base of fawn coloured eye shadow from my 88 colour palette, all over the lid up to the eye brow, followed by a purple/black over the outer third of the lid and underneath the lower lash-line. I then intensified the crease and under the outer eye with a matte black to create the classic smokey eye. I then wiped under the eye to clear away fall-out and applied foundation, concealer, blush and highlighter to contour the face. I finished the look by applying false lashes and defining the eye brow with a brown brow pencil. Finally, to add festive sparkle we decided to line the top lid with a Glitter Liner gel from NYX in rainbow white glitter along the lash line, over the false lash band. Sam's mum completed the look by softly curling the hair and gently pinning back.
