Inspiration Hello...
Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 2:27AM Hi again, this is so exciting as I now have people to write to not just ether! I am inspired in my make-up to be bold and daring probably because of my upbringing. I am the oldest of 4 girls and one boy and felt the need to assert myself in creative ways since I was about 5 years old - I was always experimenting with my Mum's leftover Avon samples - the ones that no-one wanted as they were too 'loud' or 'brassy'. I was influenced by the music of the 80's so that says ALOT! Adam and the Ants, Chaka Khan, Beasty Boys and Kylie! WOW - you're probably thinking "eclectic" or "too much"! Aarrggghh! But it has given me the confidence to wear colour and since I've been practising for 25 years, I've gotten quite good at it and know when to stop! I have some great photos of me when I was about 10, 11, 12 years old in some weird gear! Punk make-up, Pop make-up. and I had an orange fetish at one stage which resulted in a photo of me wearing an orange pin-stripe suit, orange shoes, socks, silk shirt, eyeshadow and lipstick, and earrings all at the same time! Oh the 80's - daring, but I loved it! I love make-up and have so much in me to give in terms of creative passion and drive. I want to demonstrate to women how beautiful they can be and make them feel great about themselves. That's it!
Today I have Isaac at home sick so not sure how much time I'm going to get but I am going to try and record a video of 'Diva' eyes - soft, smoky, sexy and mysterious. Ideal for an evening party or cocktail hour at your local wine bar. I hope you have fun trying to recreate this look and don't forget, it can be toned down for daytime or jazzed up with sparkle for fun nights out. I particularly love this look as it works well with my skin tone and eye colour. But there are alternatives if you have lighter eyes and skin - I'll talk about that in the vid. Have a great day!
